Gene Expression Services

How active are your genes?

We offer the entire range of gene expression services - from single target to whole transcriptome analysis.

Gene expression analysis determines the individual transcripts as well as the whole transcriptome. Gene expression analysis provides qualitative and quantitative information about the activity of genes. While in the first case, only the sequence information of the transcript needs to be known in the latter the entire transcriptome sequence information is used for transcriptome analysis.

Using a variety of state-of-the-art methods and technologies (e.g. qPCR, Sanger and next generation sequencing as well as Microarrays), we offer the entire range of gene expression services for your research project or clinical studies.

Do you want to analyse specific single targets or a set of specific genes? Or even the whole transcriptom? PCR or Array based?

The high quality of our service is overseen by a professional quality management team. We are certified according to ISO 9001 and ISO 17025. All projects can also be performed in compliance with GxP regulations.

High-quality RNA extraction

We offer you the possibility to gain high-quality RNA from a great variety of resources, extracted manually or automatically and with a subsequent quality check.

Possible resources for RNA / miRNA extraction:

  • Body fluids: blood, serum, plasma, buffy coat, cerebrospinal fluid, urine, saliva, leucocytes, PBMCs, cell-free DNA from plasma, etc.
  • Non-invasive specimens: nasal scrapes, buccal swabs, hair follicles, stool, skin, etc.
  • Tissues: liver, brain, muscle, heart, colon, adipose, pancreas, kidney, etc.
  • Species: human, mouse, rat, bacteria, yeast, fungi, viruses, etc

Platforms / methods for RNA / miRNA extraction:

  • PerkinElmer Chemagen Chemagic MSM I (all materials)
  • PAXgene (manually)
  • Buccal swabs (e.g. Chemagen, Qiagen)
  • RNeasy (single tube, 96 well, all materials)
  • QIAcube (all applications)
  • QIAsymphony

RNA quality control:

  • Quantification of the extracted RNA by OD measurement, Ribogreen or Real-Time PCR
  • Quality control of RNA extraction via Bioanalyzer (RIN values)
