Who we are

Eurofins Genomics US was founded in 1986 by a lab professor at the University of California at Berkeley. The founders were not motivated by personal financial gain but found the new venture to be fun and intellectually stimulating.  At that time, purchasing oligonucleotides were cost-prohibitive which severely limited their application in labs. They built a new oligo synthesizer to reduce cost, thereby empowering the scientific community with better, more cost-efficient reagents.

Today, Eurofins Genomics US is a global leader in life science products and services and a trusted partner amongst researchers worldwide. Our main production facilities are strategically located in the logistical hub of North America to ensure the fastest delivery of products and services, and compliant with GMP, GLP, and ISO quality assurance standards. Additional facilities are located in Europe, Japan, and India.

What we do

DNA is the language of life. Eurofins Genomics specializes in reading and writing DNA. Writing DNA involves pairing the letters of life together into a sequence, which is designed for a specific purpose. The synthesized sequence is called an oligonucleotide if single-stranded or a gene if double-stranded. Reading DNA revolves around sequencing, a process of decoding the sequence of a sample. This process results in an electronic readout of the sample's contents.

Oligo Manufacturing Facility

Our DNA / RNA manufacturing facility is designed to provide a cutting-edge environment for the production of oligonucleotides and ensure the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. The facility is designed to meet the latest regulatory requirements which ensures that our GMP oligonucleotides are manufactured in compliance with global standards. In addition, this facility incorporates advanced automation and process controls, which enhance production efficiency and leads to consistent product quality and shorter lead times.

Sequencing Laboratory

In 2015, Eurofins Genomics US constructed a new 65,000 ft² facility in Louisville, KY, the logistical hub of North America, in order to provide the fastest possible turnaround time for sequencing customers. With an enormous fleet of equipment and highly trained lab technians, Eurofins Genomics prides itself on providing the best quality and fastest results in the sequencing industry. Over the years, the sequencing portfolio has expanded to include Nanopore / Whole Plasmid sequencing, GLP sequencing, GMP sequencing, and much more.
