Barcodes are used to track samples and primers in the lab. Customers who use barcodes receive a faster turnaround time. Customers enter these barcodes on the online submission page(s) to link the order to the tubes. By using bar-coded labels, you guarantee that each sample and primer submitted to Eurofins Genomics for DNA sequencing has a unique identifier that is tracked throughout our automated system.
Eurofins Genomics provides barcode labels for free. These barcodes can be applied to sample tubes and/or primer tubes. Free barcodes can be ordered on the supplies page. In addition, all SimpleSeq kits come with prelabeled tubes and extra barcodes for primer tubes.
Submitting Barcodes on the Online Order Page
- For free barcodes and SimpleSeq barcodes, enter the barcode on the side of the tube into the barcode field on the submission page. Standard and SimpleSeq barcodes can only contain digits. Please remove any hyphens, dashes, spaces, or periods before using a barcode.
- 8-strip barcodes are automatically generated on the order page using your initials, i.e. John Doe would generate barcode JD1, JD2, etc. You do not need to order physical barcode labels if choosing 8-strip PCR tubes.
